PM Dimitar Kovacevski welcomed the adoption of the Bundestag’s resolution for
recognition of the Macedonian language and identity and for providing support for the EU
integration of the country. “This is a major decision, coming form a great country. It makes
me happy that Germany stands in protection of our language and identity, and also supports
our integration in the EU without any reserve, but at the same time, I am disappointed that
the parties that are partners or sister-parties of VMRO-DPMNE refused to support the
resolution, which may indicate that the claims of our opposition that they lobby and make
efforts for international recognition and protection of our language and identity are
unsupported. I will also once again announce that similar resolutions and recognitions will
be adopted by other EU member-states, as well as one of the greatest countries in the
world,” Kovacevski said.
