“The Republic of North Macedonia will host and chair the OSCE in 2023,” Foreign Minister Bujar Osmani said at a press-conference on Friday. As he added, the 56 OSCE participating States accepted the candidacy. The Chairmanship will follow Sweden’s and Poland’s in 2021 and 2022, respectively. Osmani stated the Chairmanship would contribute to a new, better international positioning of the country as a constructive actor and contributor in promoting the OSCE’s pledges, adding that an opportunity would be created indirectly also to manifest institutional capacity expected of a NATO country and future EU member.
