Macedonian and Bulgarian Delegation in Front of St. Cyril Plaque in Rome

The parliamentary delegations of North Macedonia and Bulgaria bowed together and laid flowers in front of the memorial plaque of St. Cyril in the Basilica “Santa Maria Maggiore” in Rome. Then the President of the Parliament Talat Xhaferi and the President of the Bulgarian National Assembly, Rosen Zhelyazkov, gave a joint statement to the media of both countries. “The initiative was mutual, I am very glad that on this beautiful holiday we were able to jointly present wreaths to our first teachers Cyril and Methodius and in this way show how we are connected by our common past, but how we will be connected by a common future,” said Zhelyazkov. “I am very glad that my colleague President Xhaferi very friendly, very cordially made this sign, which we also made,” he added. “Within the framework of the celebration of the holy brothers Cyril and Methodius, with an audience with the Pope we went through all the procedures according to the protocol that we had to go through,” Xhaferi said.
