Melescanu: Prespa Agreement Positive Example for other Balkan Countries

The Romanian Minister of Foreign Affairs Teodor Melescanu praised the afforts made by both Macedonia and Greece for resolving their bilateral dispute over the name of the former, and called upon the other Balkan countries to follow their example in resolving their bilateral disputes. “Couple of years ago, no one believed that this issue would ever be resolved, but now we see that miracles can indeed happen. The Prespa Agreement shows that despite complicated circumstances and historical reasons, a solution can be found if there is political will for such a thing. I hope that this will result with a positive impulse for other countries in the Balkan region to attempt and resolve the issues among each other,” Melescanu said during the informal meeting of Ministers of Foreign Affairs of EU member-states in Bucarest.
