Even though there is no confirmation, VMRO-DPMNE leader Hristijan Mickoski expects the elections to be held simultaneously. He believes that will happen due to previous statements by members of DUI’s leadership about the issue of simultaneous elections. According to VMRO-DPMNE, if the parliamentary elections are held in the so-called regular period, that should be done on 8 May while the first round of the presidential elections should be held on 24 April.
If it’s about early parliamentary elections, the party believes, they should be held on 14 April, while the first round of the presidential elections should be held on 31 March. Though SDSM, for now, adheres to the stand that the elections should be held separately, it is ready for a deal on dates. The ruling party considers that there is time for a solution to be found before the end of the year.
