Mickoski: Ratification-related Developments discussed at Leaders’ meeting

According to VMRO-DPMNE leader Hristijan Mickoski, there were discussions at the leaders’ meeting on what would happen if Parliament was dissolved and the NATO Protocol wasn’t previously ratified. Mickoski said on Wednesday that an adviser from President Stevo Pendarovski’s Cabinet had said that the Constitution provided that Parliament could have a session in the event of urgent and unpostponable matters. As he added, in the past, there were situations in which Parliament, after dissolution, met to agree on election dates. Answering a journalist’s question whether he would have a problem with, in the event of him forming the government, an official from the Albanian bloc heading some key ministry or possibly being Parliament Speaker, Mickoski said he had no prejudice in terms of a member of the Albanian community holding some high state position, Plusinfo reported. Asked about the different interpretations of the implementation of the Prespa Agreement since the summit in Brussels, he said he was worried by SDSM’s unprincipledness and decadence in SDSM’s ranks. He added that it was not good for a country that wanted to join the EU and NATO. “The Prespa Agreement is clear and it is known what’s needed. VMRO-DPMNE’s stand is clear and known and there’s nothing to add,” Mickoski noted. Regarding the claims about an offer from Moscow for membership of Macedonia in the Eurasian Economic Union, the VMRO-DPMNE leader said Macedonia’s future was in the EU.
