VMRO-DPMNE leader Hristijan Mickoski held a press conference as a response to PM Zoran Zaev’s interview for BGNES. “With this utterly scandalous interview, Zaev negated the entire anti-fascist struggle and history of the Macedonian citizens, and placed an equality sign between the anti-fascist fighters and the Bulgarian occupiers from World War II. I am very concerned that this interview of Zaev may be the first step towards the Macedonian government giving up on the Macedonian identity and language, as well as the Macedonian minority living in Bulgaria. This is an act of a violent attempt for falsification of the history, and I warn Zaev that he must never toy with the Macedonian identity and the national feelings of Macedonians,” Mickoski said. He also called upon all citizens via Facebook to join a protest organised by VMRO-DPMNE to take place on Thursday in Skopje, against the governmental policies in the bilateral relations with Bulgaria.
