For the second time in one month, Austria has made a donation to Macedonia in the efforts to deal with COVID-19. The donation consists of 500 packages containing personal hygiene products for a five-member family. It’s been secured through the EU Civil Protection Mechanism and NATO’s Euro-Atlantic Disaster Response Coordination Centre. Deputy Foreign Minister Andrej Zernovski received the donation in Skopje on Monday in the presence of Austrian Ambassador Georg Woutsas and the Chief of NATO Liaison Office Skopje, Colonel Zoran Jankovic. The Ambassador said there would be additional assistance from Austria, adding that Western Balkan countries would be in the focus of his country’s support in the fight against COVID-19. At the same time, he once again pointed to the Austrian offer of admission of patients from Macedonia to Austria’s hospitals who need urgent hospital admission and intensive care. Zernovski expressed gratitude to Austria for the donation, adding it confirmed Vienna’s continued support for Skopje.
