President Stevo Pendarovski had a meeting with Gert Jan Koopman, the general director, and Michela Matuella, acting director for the Western Balkans of the General Directorate for Neighborhood and Enlargement Negotiations of the European Commission. As informed by Pendarovski’s Cabinet, the meeting discussed the current situation in the country, the progress of the screening process, the relations with the neighborhood and the region of the Western Balkans in the context of European integration, as well as the process of expansion of the European Union. The interlocutors exchanged opinions and information on the conditions and perspectives of the countries in the region, in the broader geopolitical and security context, caused by the war in Ukraine.
