Pendarovski, Stoltenberg Discuss Accession of Macedonia in NATO

President of Macedonia Stevo Pendarovski spoke on the phone on Tuesday with NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg in relation to the recent accession of Macedonia in NATO as the Alliance’s 30^th full-fledged member. Pendarovski thanked Stoltenberg for the warm welcome of Macedonia in NATO, and said that the membership in this Alliance will motivate the country to proceed with further processes of reforms and development. President Pendarovski also informed Stoltenberg on the ongoing situation in Macedonia with the COVID-19 epidemic, with Pendarovski saying that several NATO member-states have already provided or are about to provide assistance to Macedonia in form of donations. Pendarovski and Stoltenberg agreed that the competent institutions should increase communication in the coming period in addressing the COVID-19 pandemic and fake news.
