On Friday, PM Dimitar Kovacevski said the constitutional changes process was not related to the Government’s term, but rather to the European integration path, which was why there would be no elections in autumn. As he added, every party has an obligation to support EU membership. The constitutional changes will be submitted to Parliament in the next two weeks and they will be made public so that citizens are assured it’s about technical amendments, the PM stressed. On the other hand, VMRO-DPMNE leader Hristijan Mickoski again said it would not accept changes “under a Bulgarian dictate”. He added there was only one proposal on the table – early elections. “After those early elections, our stand as far as the Bulgarian dictate is concerned remains the same. As long as I head VMRO-DPMNE, we will not accept such circumstances,” the opposition leader noted.
