PM Kovacevski Comments on VMRO-DPMNE’s Stand on Number of MPs Issue

Constitutional changes require consensus and dialogue because otherwise, great damage may be done by opening it. That’s PM Dimitar Kovacevski’s stand on VMRO-DPMNE’s position that the number of MPs should be reduced from 120 to 90. On Monday, he reiterated there wouldn’t be early elections. Regarding the issue of changes to the Electoral Code, it’s necessary for working groups to be formed that will define the election model. On that issue, VMRO-DPMNE has started negotiations in the legislative home with parliamentary parties. Hristijan Mickoski’s party supports the draft-changes supported by the smaller parties asking for a single electoral district without an election threshold.
