PM Zaev Comments on Several Topics

According to PM Zoran Zaev, the country doesn’t need the EU if the price is the
Macedonian identity and language. As he said on Wednesday, the right to self-
determination is a feeling. Regarding the messages from the EU and US, which Zaev
described as partners and friends of the country, the PM stated that “they are here to
share experience”. However, he added: “It’s our decision and we are the ones who make
it.” Despite the fact that new elections will be held in Bulgaria, Zaev hopes a solution
will be formed with the interim government. EU membership for North Macedonia is of
common interest to the two neighbouring countries, Zaev stated. As regards the local
elections issue, he said his party, SDSM, would once again participate in a united
manner, adding that he believed there would be a victory.
