PM, Zoran Zaev, accompanied by Internal Affairs Minister, Oliver Spasovski, met with European Migration, Home Affairs and Citizenship Commissioner Dimitris Avramopoulos who was accompanied by EU’s Ambassador to the country, Samuel Zbogar, on Sunday. The topics at the meeting were the successful policies led by MoI and the Government in the way of strengthening capacities and cooperation with EU on managing illegal migration and on the completed security reforms. It has been concluded that the country has reached the requested standards and it has been recommended for the country to keep the leadership in the reformation process. “We are working on implementing the reforms and we expect for the achieved results to be valued, both domestically, as well as in the well-neighbourly relations. The start for accession talks with the Republic of North Macedonia with EU will enable enlargement of the cooperation in the struggle against crime and corruption, which will show results on a regional level,” stated PM Zaev. At the meeting, Zaev also thanked the European Commissioner Avramopoulos for the support in the progress and integration perspectives of Macedonia.
