PM Zoran Zaev met with German Foreign Minister, Heiko Maas on Wednesday, where they expressed their disappointment with the decision at the European Council caused by the French standpoint and agreed that the two counties will do everything necessary for a positive decision at soonest timeframe. As the government press-service reported, the meeting was also attended by FM, Nikola Dimitrov, where the exceptional cooperation between the two counties was underlined, especially in the German support toward the accession talks of the country. “North Macedonia values the German participation in the country’s economy, through programs for foreign direct investments which has opened many work places. The overall trade exchange between the two counties reaches near 4 billion Euros, and the country hosts 200 companies with German capital. The excellent cooperation with the German Economic Chamber in the country and their support for the vocational education programs are of exceptional meaning,” stated PM Zaev at the meeting. PM Zaev, accompanied by Finance Minister, Nina Angelovska, also met with the delegation led by Head of the IMF Mission to Macedonia, Bergljot Bjornson Barkbu. At the meeting, they concluded that the stable political climate, good reforms, strengthened capacities of the institutions, effective administration, fiscal stability are key in the development of the country’s economy, according to the government press-service.
