President Pendarovski Meets Leaders of Religious Communities

The upcoming Easter and Ramadan holidays and the conditions in which due to the pandemic, caution will be necessary when celebrating the holidays in the country, was the topic of Thursday’s meeting between President Stevo Pendarovski and leaders and representatives of religious communities. According to his cabinet, President Pendarovski stressed the importance of the role of the heads of religious communities, both in fostering coexistence, which is an important precondition for the prosperity and progress of the country, and the importance of their actions during the pandemic of COVID-19. The meeting was attended by the head of the Macedonian Orthodox Church – Ohrid Archbishopric, Metropolitan of Skopje Stefan, the head of the Islamic religious community, Reis-ul-ulema Shaqir ef. Fetahu, Bishop of Skopje and Strumica, Kiro Stojanov, the superintendent of the Evangelical Methodist Church, Marjan Dimov, as well as Darijan Sotirovski, director of the Commission for Relations with Religious Communities and Groups.
