Prosecutor Ristoska Levels Fierce Criticism at Criminal Code Changes

On Friday, Prosecutor Lence Ristoska described the Criminal Code changes as an insult to prosecutors honestly fighting corruption, adding that they are in the direction of impunity. She’s the first prosecutor to publicly comment on the matter. The changes, Ristoska noted, will most often affect crimes related to corruption.

Friday also saw the continuation of the trial over the Trajectory case. However, neither Prosecutor Lile Stefanova nor lawyers for the defence referred to the changes. Stefanova told the media that the statute of limitations still hadn’t expired, which was why the trial continued. According to the charge, the statute of limitations will expire in October.
