SCPC Makes Decision to Close Case Against Ivanov

The State Commission for Prevention of Corruption (SCPC) at the continuation of the 57^th session decided to stop the case against former President Gjorge Ivanov for promotion and appointment of persons in the Army. The director of the SCPC, Biljana Ivanovska, pointed out that the procedure is being closed, that given that the factual situation has been overcome and changed, the Commission will not do more. Ivanovska reminded that SCPC, acting on information received from the media and reports from unknown applicants, opened a case on its own initiative regarding signed decrees for promotion and appointment of persons in the Army by President Gjorge Ivanov during the 2019 election period. To determine the factual situation, Ivanovska pointed out that the SCPC requested and received information and evidence from the Cabinet of President Ivanov and the Ministry of Defence.
