On Wednesday, SDSM said again that the new government was failing when it came to the wildfire situation. As a result, the party believes, Interior Minister Pance Toskovski should be removed from the Steering Committee.
In response, PM Hristijan Mickoski asked what the previous government had done in the field of crisis management. “We inherited three dysfunctional planes and three dysfunctional helicopters for fighting fires. We have put them into use again. We’ve brought back the pilots too,” he noted. The PM said he was concerned because some of the fires were being set intentionally. “Assistance is arriving from several countries in Europe. I call on citizens not to get self-organised in efforts to put out the wildfires because there is enough professional staff,” he also stressed.
