According to SDSM leader Zoran Zaev, a decision extending the state of emergency is needed in order to more efficiently deal with the crisis. As he wrote on his official Facebook page on Friday, the Government can react timely and thoroughly. Zaev believes that it has shown responsible behaviour, adopting measures and regulations exclusively in the interest of citizens and dealing with the situation. In his view, the state of emergency has created opportunities to implement swift and efficient measures aiming to prevent the spread of the coronavirus, protect the health of citizens, and deal with economic consequences. Dealing with the coronavirus, the SDSM leader added, requires serious commitment from both institutions and citizens. Zaev urged full compliance with the measures and orders.
