During the visit to Slovenia, Hungarian Foreign Minister Peter Szijjarto said both countries were committed to EU enlargement towards the Western Balkans (WB) due to the closeness with the countries from the region. “We are very committed to enlargement, we feel that the EU, after Brexit, needs a success story and new members,” he noted. According to the Hungarian politician, however, some countries, such as the Netherlands and France, are not in favour of enlargement, whereas the members that are in favour of integration don’t have a majority. Central European Countries and the Visegrad Group strongly support enlargement, whereas the more distant countries unfortunately don’t, Szijjarto also said.
