The former Speaker of the Macedonian Parliament Trajko Veljanoski provided his testimony on Tuesday as a witness of the defence in the “27 April Parliament Incidents” case. During the hearing, Veljanoski provided short answers to the questions asked by Judge Dobrila Kacarska. “I was not aware that someone is preparing to intrude the Parliament on 27 April 2017. I was also not aware about the people with masks either. I saw the incidents on TV, but did not ask for assistance from the Interior Ministry, since my obligation as PS is only to guide the sessions in the Parliament,” Veljanoski said. Kacarska then asked him about an SMS sent to defendant Goran Gjosevski – Levi on 27 April 2017 at 05:47 p.m. saying “stay alert, everyone in MoI knows about this,” but Veljanoski did not provide an answer, only saying he told him to pay attention having in mind past experiences with incidents in the Parliament. MP Zijadin Sela also provided his testimony during the Tuesday hearing, concluding that, according to their absence from the Parliament on 27 April 2017, presidents of certain political parties knew that incidents will occur. “After Talat Xhaferi was elected PS, we headed towards the press centre, when we heard noise and someone told us the crowd managed to enter the Parliament. They told me that a man of the security is taking the MPs to safety and to go after him, but I refused, because the people from the crowd know me and my presence may cause problems for him. Suddenly, I found myself in the middle of the crowd. They were throwing different objects at me, and then I lost conscience and do not remember anything. I regained conscience and saw security guard Abdulfeta Alimi next to me, checking for my vital signs, with another person who was with the crowd, but claimed he was helping me. They put a sweatshirt and a badge on me, and took me out of the building disguised as an injured police officer. Once I was taken over by the doctors at the reanimation clinics, I told Alimi that he can leave my side, that he is free to go now,” Sela said.
