VMRO-DPMNE: Culture Minister Must Apologise over Censorship Statements

VMRO-DPMNE demanded immediate apology from Culture Minister Bisera Kostadinovska-Stojcevska over her latest statements in which some artists and politicians recognised censorship attempts. “In the spirit of the protocol the government led by Dimitar Kovacevski signed with Bulgaria, the culture minister wants to introduce censorship, to create an Orwellian world in the Macedonian culture. It seems that the government will not provide any form of support for any film, book or artwork in which Bulgaria would recognise hate speech against their state or the Bulgarian people. Some of the most beautiful books, films, paintings and other artworks from our Macedonian culture are based upon historical events, so does this mean that they will become taboo as well,” said VMRO-DPMNE Spokesperson Dimce Arsovski.
