Vucic, Rama and Zaev Agree on Regional Cooperation Initiative

The leaders of Serbia, Albania and Macedonia – President Aleksandar Vucic, Prime Ministers Edi Rama and Zoran Zaev held a meeting through a conference call to renew the regional cooperation initiative launched last year. The activities of the regional cooperation initiative were postponed due to the COVID-19 pandemic and the elections in Macedonia and Serbia, and the three leaders agreed that the crisis stressed the need to further intensify mutual cooperation and regional economic integration. During the online meeting, President Vucic and Prime Ministers Rama and Zaev stressed that this initiative is fully in line with the Berlin Process and that it is a good basis for preparing the Western Balkan countries for the forthcoming Western Balkans Summit to be held in Sofia in November as part of the Berlin Process, co-chaired by Bulgaria and Macedonia this year. President Vucic and Prime Ministers Rama and Zaev also agreed to form a permanent working group of representatives of all countries of the initiative to accelerate the implementation of the agreed activities within the regional cooperation.
