Zaev: No Need for New State of Emergency, so Election Deadlines Remain

SDSM leader Zoran Zaev says for Vecer that the state of emergency decisions have so far been made due to the economic measures to help the economy and citizens. He adds that the Government sees no need for a fourth package of such measures because the process to realise the third, which has already been adopted, will last until autumn. “There are no reasons for the Government to request a new state of emergency. It doesn’t have grounds to justify it to boot. That’s why, election deadlines remain as it is legally and constitutionally prescribed, which is 22 days from the end of the state of emergency, that is, on 5 July,” the former PM explains for the daily. Zaev’s comments came before the Government’s session on Wednesday.
