Zaharieva: There Certainly Is Tension, Everybody Needs to Calm Emotions

Bulgarian Foreign Minister Ekaterina Zaharieva criticized the statement made by Prime Minister Zoran Zaev on Monday at the debate of the American think tank Atlantic Council. Zaharieva stressed that the problem is that they believe that hatred towards Bulgarians is nurtured and that the Agreement is not being fulfilled. “Is it in principle to educate generations after generations with hatred towards the neighbouring country and all its people. The problem is that hatred towards the Bulgarians is nurtured, that the Agreement is not fulfilled. These forms of any kind of discrimination cannot continue in the 21st century,” said Zaharieva in response to Zaev’s statement. Zaharieva reiterated that Bulgaria wants to see Macedonia as part of the European Union.
