Zakharieva: Macedonia’s NATO, EU membership is Bulgaria’s National Interest

The Bulgarian Minister of Foreign Affairs Ekaterina Zakharieva stated for the Bulgarian National Television that Macedonia’s membership in NATO and EU is part of the Bulgarian national interests. “The signing of the Good-neighbourliness Agreement does not mean that all is over and that all issues between the two countries are resolved. I hope that the joint committee of Macedonian and Bulgarian experts will work efficiently and that they will manage to resolve all open issues concerning the mutual history of Macedonia and Bulgaria. No bilateral issue should remain unresolved until Macedonia becomes member of NATO and EU,” Zakharieva said.
