Abazi-headed Office Takes over Investigation into Arson Attack on Vehicles Case

The Prosecutor’s Office for Prosecution of Organized Crime and Corruption, headed by Islam Abazi, has taken over the investigation into the June 15 arson attack on Bulgarian diplomatic vehicles in Skopje.

The investigators identified potential elements of the crime of endangering persons under international protection, considering that the vehicles were used by Bulgaria’s military attaché and other Embassy personnel. A 30-day detention measure, instead of the hitherto eight-day one, has been sought.

In the meantime, the Viktor Stoyanov-headed Macedonia Foundation has said it will not hold the previously announced protests and blockades at the three border crossings.
