Instead of carrying out activities related to the Q&A session, as foreseen, Thursday saw politicians in Parliament spend half the day arguing over issues related to the Rules of Procedure.
MP Ilire Dauti of Ziadin Sela’s Albanian League blocked the session with procedural speeches because she had not received a written response from PM Mickoski regarding when the Equitable Representation Bill — which requires the so-called small Badinter model — will be put to a vote. Opposition MPs supported her, the ruling majority demanded that, as they said, substantive debate continue, while Speaker Gashi requested the Committee on Rules of Procedures to issue an opinion on whether she had the right to block the entire session with that request.
In the afternoon, Deputy Speaker Bendevska said Dauti had received an answer to her question, adding that all previous misunderstandings related to the matter had been resolved. Before the accusations related to the procedure began, SDSM leader Filipche and Mickoski traded accusations about about the Gostivar water case and the economy.
