After the leaders’ meeting on Wednesday, DUI leader Ahmeti stated that his party was in agreement when it came to an introduction of a single electoral district, with open lists, and with a threshold of 5%.
“Now, this matter remains for further discussions”, he added.
Regarding PM Mickoski’s idea to abolish the technical cabinet concept, the DUI leader believes additional consultations are needed with the EU and U.S., the co-authors of the Przhino government text.
As regards the rest of matters Ahmeti planned to raise, a decision was made for there to be a follow-up meeting between him and the PM. Levica leader and MP Apasiev, too, held a press conference after the leaders’ meeting.
It’s been agreed, in principle, for a new Electoral Code to be passed by June, he pointed out.
