Aliu: 8 Reports of Eventual Irregularities with Surgeries Submitted So Far

Minister of Health Azir Aliu informed at a press conference that so far 8 reports have been filed to the recently formed internal commission which investigates eventual irregularities in cardiology and cardio-surgery interventions done in the country.

“Couple of weeks ago, the public was disturbed by information that allegedly cardiological interventions have been done in private clinics in our country even though they have not been necessary. The Ministry immediately initiated all mechanisms to respond to these claims, including the formation of the internal commission.

So far, we have received 8 reports, submitted by one public healthcare institution, about possible irregularities during surgeries and other medical procedures, and they will be thoroughly investigated. The foreign commission of doctors from Italy, Austria and Slovenia will also examine these cases”, Aliu said, adding that the citizens deserve top quality healthcare services.
