“There can’t be a system if it depends on individuals and their wishes. Then, the system suffocates in mud. The package of laws that the Ministry of Information Society and Administration is proposing must be adopted as soon as possible because that is a top interest,” Minister Azir Aliu said at a press-conference on Tuesday.
As he added, all MPs should have that stand. Aliu stated that over the past period, there had been work on a whole package of laws in order to advance regulations regarding administration.
“The draft laws are in full accordance with the three pillars of the EU’s programme,” the Minister noted, adding that North Macedonia had signed a document putting it under an obligation to implement them.
The postponement of the adoption obstructs the necessary public administration reform, with that being a main condition of the EU, he assessed.
“The goal is a motivated and depoliticised public administration sector,” the Minister also stated. He expressed readiness to immediately talk to all MPs over these laws.
He said he couldn’t say whether he would resign without such a decision being backed and passing all filters. Aliu confirmed he’d talked to PM Dimitar Kovacevski and received assurances that the laws would be part of a plenary session on 30 January.
