Alliance for Albanians Wing to Make Decision on Local Elections 15 April

On Tuesday (April 15), VLEN co-leader Arben Taravari’s Alliance for Albanians wing will decide whether it will participate in the local elections on its own or as part of VLEN.

As Taravari said on Monday, in some predominantly ethnic Albanian municipalities, such as Gostivar, Debar, and Saraj, his wing is able to get more votes if it participates independently than in the frames of VLEN.

“We have two options: continuing with VLEN or participating on our own. The choice is between these two options, there is no third one”, he noted.

Taravari denied that he’d met DUI leader Ali Ahmeti and that his wing was negotiating on potential cooperation with DUI. He declined to comment on fellow VLEN co-leader Bilall Kasami’s statement during the interview with RFE Macedonian, when he’d said it was no coincidence that there was a saying that the one who left the group got eaten by the wolf.
