On Monday, US Ambassador Angela Aggeler signed the condolences book opened at the Foreign Ministry over the Kocani nightclub fire. She said she’d simply noted that “our hearts are breaking for everyone”.
“We have certainly offered any assistance possible. We’re further away. And I am so grateful that so many other countries within the region have been able to react very, very quickly and get the victims the help that they needed immediately. That is something that we do not have the benefit of because of our location”, she pointed out.
EU Ambassador Michalis Rokas, too, signed, expressing heartfelt condolences. “As the EU, we do our duty. We are your partners and we are there from the first second”, he stated.
Swedish Ambassador Ami Larsson-Jain, too, was among those that signed, saying it was important to go to the Foreign Ministry and demonstrate support for North Macedonia in the times that were too difficult. Akeem Ali, WHO Representative and Head of Country Office, signed the book as well.
