On Monday, Protection and Rescue Directorate Director Stojance Angelov said the wildfire spreading near Blace and Cucer villages, in Cucer-Sandevo Municipality, had been most likely caused by a cigarette butt.
In a Kanal 5 report at 3:16 pm, he was also quoted as saying that the wildfire had been partly put under control.
“Helicopters and directorate vehicles that will be of assistance to firefighters on the ground are part of the activities”, Angelov added.
Currently, there are four active fires, the one Blace-Cucer one, as well as those near Besiste village, near the Solunska Glava peak, and in Cresnevo village, Kanal 5 added in the report.
