Angelov: Krushevo and Gostivar Water Cases Shouldn’t be Compared At All

At a press conference on Monday, Protection and Rescue Directorate Director Angelov stated that the Krushevo and Gostivar water cases shouldn’t be compared at all. As he explained, in Krushevo, there was a power outage that lasted for one hour. In that city, he added, there are no citizens complaining of health issues.

Angelov underlined that immediately after he’d received information that the water in Krushevo’s supply system, too, was unsafe, he’d spoken with Mayor Niko Choneski. He was informed that due to a power outage, the water chlorination device had been non-functional for about an hour.

A decision on whether the ban will be lifted in Krushevo will be made Tuesday (July 28).

In Mavrovo, the local public enterprise said it would conduct preventive cleaning of the water supply network on the stretch from the village of Mavrovo to the post office in Mavrovi Anovi. Due to the intervention, it appeals to residents not to use the water for drinking during this period, but exclusively for technical use.

After the cleaning is completed, the public will be informed in a timely manner when the water is safe for consumption once again.
