Monday’s hearing in the Kochani fire trial saw the testimony of another three boys that survived the tragedy. Like Kristijan Panov earlier, they, too, confirmed that they’d never received fiscal receipts for tickets and that pyrotechnics had been used both on March 16, 2025, and previously.
All witnesses stated that they hadn’t seen fire extinguishers at the nightclub. However, they added that on the night of the fire, they’d seen the Pulse owner, Dejan Jovanov, running while using one to put out the fire.
“I heard the singer, Pancho, when he said that police officers had entered, shortly before the breaking out of the fire. But police didn’t stop the party. I had noticed such operations prior, too, I too had been asked for an ID. Two-three police officers were standing outside while the people were running away, but they were doing nothing, I don’t know why”, the second witness, Ivan Danailov, testified.
Judge Diana Gruevska-Ilievska didn’t allow a fifth boy to testify because prosecutors hadn’t announced that person as a witness for the hearing. The decision was made upon a request from attorneys. The next hearing will be held on February 2.
