The Appellate Court acquitted Bojan Jovanovski (a.k.a. “Boki 13”) in the International Alliance case. He had been previously sentenced by the Criminal Court to five years in prison for fraud and money laundering.
The case concerned the, according to the prosecution, defrauding of two businesspeople who were supposed to build nursing homes together with Jovanovski. The Appellate Court has established that the evidence presented failed to prove that the defendants committed the criminal offenses with which they were charged.
Jovanovski commented on the verdict, saying the legal fabrication of (then-Prosecutor) Vilma Ruskovska and Judge Sofche Gavrilova-Efremova had fallen.
