Appellate Court Explains Retrial Ruling Regarding Gjorchevski

Regarding the conduct of Aleksandar Gjorchevski before and after the abduction of his daughter, Vanja, as well as the defendants’ statements about the her movements and the timeline of events, the Criminal Court failed to establish sufficiently clear facts and conducted an incomplete evaluation of the evidence.

That is the rationale of the Appellate Court, which overturned the Gjorchevski acquittal and ordered the Criminal Court to assess the probative value of the statements given by Velibor Manev, Vlatko Keshishev, and Bore Videvski, as well as the circumstances surrounding the girl’s movements and the specific evidence establishing how the father knew when she would leave home and head to school.

It also requested the examination of the temporal and factual connection between the of November 24, 2023, and November 27, 2023, events.
