Jane Chento, one of those convicted in the trial over the April 27, 2017, storming of Parliament, has filed a criminal charge against former Prosecutor Vilma Ruskovska concerning obstruction of justice and abuse of official position.
At Monday’s press conference, where he was accompanied by, among others, Bogdan Ilievski, one of those who was covered by the amnesty process and who currently works for Alfa as journalist, he said evidence had been submitted that called into question the way the investigation had been conducted and the course of the trial.
As Chento explained, a statement from one of the witnesses, certified before a notary, stating that he gave false testimony during the procedure has been secured.
Ruskovska, however, said she had nothing to fear, adding that several defendants had been given shorter sentences because they had testified about the event during the main hearing, which was allowed according to the Criminal Procedure Law.
Monday also saw SDSM react to PM Mickoski’s comments on the April 27 case. According to the opposition party, his statements that the events were a politically staged case represent a dangerous revision of facts.
