Arifi Trial: Video Evidence Presented

Тhe hearing in the bribery trial in which former Director of Geriatric Medicine Hospital Muhsin Arifi and Blerim Amiti are charged saw the Prosecutor’s Office present videos secured through special investigative measures to try to prove Arifi received 20,000 euros to ensure a patient was admitted to his institution.

In April, according to the video evidence, Arifi, Amiti, and the witness who, based on the charge, was asked to pay a bribe, would first meet at restaurants and coffee places, while several days later, the money was paid. Based on the video materials, the 20,000-euro-amount was handed over in a car on the street where the Hospital is located.

The Prosecutor’s Office said the videos irrefutably confirmed the defendants had committed the act. On the other hand, a witness for the defense, who stated that he didn’t know Arifi personally, i.e. they were just friends on Facebook, praised him for having helped in order for a friend of his coworker to be admitted to the institution.
