Bogoev and Three Other Suspects Each Issued 30-day Detention Measure

On Wednesday night, the Criminal Court accepted the Prosecutor’s Office for Prosecution of Organized Crime and Corruption’s proposal for a 30-day detention measure against former Customs Administration Director Stefan Bogoev, who is suspected of rigging a tender worth over 300,000 euros and receiving a kickback of around 1,800 euros for that.

In addition, three other individuals are suspected of manipulating the procedure to favor the Bitola-based Remondis Medison, the company which secured the contract for external hygiene maintenance at border crossings and terminals. They, too, were each issued a 30-day detention measure.

According to the Office, Bogoev, using his official position and influence, influenced the implementation of the tender procedure in favor of the bidder.

“The second suspect, in his capacity as Assistant Director, influenced other economic operators not to participate in the final phase of the procedure”, it added.

At that time, Semir Mura was the Assistant Director. Dimitar Georgievski was the manager of the Bitola-based company, while the employee in question was Aleksandar Spirkovski (a.k.a. Djemo).
