Bulgarian Parliament Adopts Resolution Calling on North Macedonia to Fulfill Assumed Obligations

On Friday, Bulgaria’s Parliament, unanimously, with 194 in favour, none against, and no abstentions, adopted a resolution calling on North Macedonia’s authorities to fulfill assumed obligations.

According to the document, any attempts in the frames of the EU to renegotiate or go around already reached agreements are unacceptable. GERB leader Boyko Borissov stated that he’d talked to, inter alia, European Council President Antonio Costa and EPP President Manfred Weber.

“We have a Good-Neighbourliness Treaty, the so-called French proposal, while we insist on everyone complying with the deal”, the ex-Bulgarian PM stated, adding that provocations were in nobody’s interest.

Despite the resolution, VMRO-DPMNE’s stand remains unchanged, that is, the party has said it adheres to its stand on delayed implementation of the constitutional changes.
