Celopek Case: Teacher who Organised Performance to Be Held to Account

“The minutes of the extraordinary supervision have been drawn up. Inspectors found irregularities. As a result, one of the teachers that organised the performance will be held to account,” Education Minister Vesna Janevska said on Wednesday regarding the performance at 7 Mart (7 March) Primary School in Celopek (located in Brvenica Municipality) during which students had been wearing NLA uniforms and holding toy guns.

As she explained, both the School’s Head-teacher, Jasin Reka, and Brvenica Mayor Jovica Ilievski will be notified in order to act according to the law.

“However, what I find more important is that we will organise a coexistence, multiculturalism, multiethnicity training at both this School and several other schools over which we received reports about irregularities, for which I will honestly say no irregularities have been found, though there was some revolt,” the Minister underlined, adding that the Ministry would ask for OSCE support, too, over the training.
