Prosecutors have said that the Criminal Court has approved the charge against 10 people, including Strumica businessperson Risto Krmzov, and 13 companies, suspected of financial crime worth tens of millions euros. The Prosecutor’s Office has also sought that the assets frozen in the case be confiscated.
Krmzov, as well as his nephew, Vase Panajotov, and niece, Zule Karmzova, are charged as organizers of the criminal association which, according to prosecutors, through the formation of various companies, would issue invoices with false content in order to be able to get a VAT return from the state or reduce the tax they were required to pay. Four business associates of theirs have been charged as well.
Their companies, including the largest one owned by Krmzov, MR, have been charged as well. The process covers also three accountants suspected of unscrupulous operation.
Upon requests from the other people, they would, according to the charge, record the bogus invoices on alleged sales of real estate and include them in the tax returns to the Public Revenue Office in order to be able to file a request, in an unfounded manner, for a VAT return or tax reduction.
