Chernodrinski Case: MP Files Petition, Gjorgievski Says There’s no Provocation

MP and Deputy Speaker Vesna Bendevska has filed the previously announced petition before the Prosecutor’s Office over, as she says, the provocations and violation of Macedonian national sentiments in the case concerning the claims made at an event of the club in Bitola, where Vojdan Chernodrinski’s book “Macedonian Blood Wedding” was presented as Bulgarian cultural heritage.

“I contacted the Basic Public Prosecutor’s Office in Bitola, asking it whether state institutions could find a way to prohibit the action of the association of citizens under a fascist name [“Vancho Mihailov”]. If there are indications, I will immediately file a charge against Ljupco Gjorgievski, former head of the former association, which has been erased from the Registry,” she noted.

Several hours after Bendevska’s comments, however, Kanal 5 reported that the association had functioned under a new name, “Edna Roza Kulturen Centar” (“One Rose Cultural Centre”). Gjorgievski said regarding Bendevska’s actions that they represented a pressure attempt.
