Tuesday’s hearing in the Ivana and Katja trial saw the closing arguments presented. Prosecutor Adela Bojchevikj asked for the suspect, i.e., now-widower Stojanche Ivanovski to be given the max sentence for all three acts: instigation to suicide, bodily injury inflicted during domestic violence, and threatening the safety.
As she added, that should be done not only for the late woman and child, but also as a message to society that physical violence mustn’t be tolerated.
On the other hand, Jovanovski’s defense said the testimonies had been indirect. Also, it added that the Prosecutor’s Office had failed to prove both that Jovanovski had inflicted the injuries and that there was a causal link regarding the part of the charge concerning instigation to suicide.
