Constitutional Court Launches Procedure over Balancer Tool

The Constitutional Court has launched a procedure to assess employments along ethnic lines.

Regarding the Balancer tool, the Court said on Wednesday ethnic affiliation couldn’t be a condition for an administration sector job because such ads were in contradiction with the rights of citizens for equality when it comes to all jobs.

The decision means a temporary ban on job ads in which an ethnic affiliation is among the conditions.

The Court will decide in the coming months whether it will abolish the tool for good. In the meantime, it will request opinions from the Government, Parliament, and ministries that worked on employments in the public sector and administrative servants.
