Constitutional Court Maintains Position on Languages Law Assessment Matter

The Constitutional Court has maintained its position that it will assess the Languages Law once its composition is fully completed, according to Court President Kostadinovski. The ninth member should be elected by Parliament.

At the end of March, The Judicial Council nominated Skopje Appellate Court President Meri Dika-Georgievska as a candidate. Speaker Gashi says the item is on the agenda of Wednesday’s session.

Regarding the Venice Commission’s opinion on the Languages Law, Kostadinovski points out he will refrain from interpreting it in order for that not to be misused for political purposes.
