Constitutional Court to Take Action over Ex-MP Protocol-related Initiative

The Constitutional Court will assess the lawfulness of the second protocol signed between North Macedonia and Bulgaria, on the basis of the initiative filed in July by Liljana Popovska.

According to the ex-MP and former DOM leader, there is improper form and content, while the protocol goes beyond the frames of a legal act that concerns an article of an agreement between two countries, in addition to producing harmful activities against the identity matters of the Macedonian people, language and state.

According to the Court, Popovkska has sought that the protocol be abolished, while she also says the abolition is founded according to the Vienna Convention on the Law of Treaties.
